BULLYING!

I thought I would write about bullying today as I know it is something a lot of people deal with, and it is something I have been through.

Firstly I want to define what bullying is in my opinion. I think bullying is when someone or a group of people physically or verbally abuses another person over a long period of time. However it does mean different things to different people.

I was bullied in secondary school and since leaving it's funny to see how everyone's paths are completely different to what I thought they would be. Even my own path. I feel extremely proud to be able to say I have an unconditional offer for a university that I love, studying something I am passionate about, but if I'm honest I don't think I would have pushed myself as much if I didn't go through everything in secondary school. I felt the need to prove certain people wrong and to prove myself wrong for believing what they said for so long. If you are in a position were you are being bullied use that anger you probably feel towards them to better yourself.

Lastly, even though it's hard, you should feel sorry for bullies. For them to be able to bring down another person shows they must be dealing with something very difficult in their own life. I used to try my hardest to pray for those who bullied me, that they would find happiness and would no longer feel the need to bully others.

"A bully grows weaker and a victim gets stronger."

I would love to know your thoughts and opinions on bullying.

  1. Bullying is disgusting but sadly part of life. I've been bullied, not major but still It's not nice. I watched my best friend getting badly bullied for ages and it was so horrible watching her go through that it definitely effected her a lot. I learnt not to interact with them but just to ignore them and even though my friend wanted to ignore them a lot of the times she couldn't and I think that's what made her an easy target. But like you she has accomplished so many things now when all those bullies aren't doing much with their lives. It's sad how people feel the need to bring people down /: http://www.coffeeatmidnight13.blogspot.co.uk/

    1. Thank you so much for your comment! Bullying really is disgusting. It is so hard to ignore them, but it actually is the best thing to do (most of the time) as bullies find amusement in getting a reaction. I'm so glad your friend is accomplishing many things :D x

  2. I never really got bullied constantly, but I still remember every time that I have been over the years, and it sucked.

  3. I see bullying as a way for bullies to put others down because of their own securities. sigh, I saw it with one of my ex boyfriends and even though he was bullied, he also repeated the process by putting others down verbally. I was bullied when I was in middle school so I empathize with you in how painful it can be. :/

    1. I think so too! That's why I try and feel sorry for them rather than hatred. xxxx

  4. Hey thanks for stopping by my blog! And great post, I completely agree with you. Love that quote at the end too. I'm in a similar situation to you as I was bullied a lot at school but now seem to be doing so much more with my life! They wrecked my confidence but I rebuilt it through drama lessons and theatre groups.. I was never good at acting but the confidence I gained was so vital xxx

    1. No problem ^_^ that's exactly how I rebuilt my confidence. I hated drama at school but joined a drama club outside of school and now I perform in theatre shows in front of hundreds of people lol. Thanks for your comment xxxx

  6. Loved reading this post!! :)

I was bullied a couple of times when I was younger (physically and mentally) and I think the mental bullying was the worst, especially cause I wouldn't defend myself as I felt so so sorry for her.

Now, I've moved on and who cares about her. Not me!! :) lol

  7. I agree with everything you say here 100%. Yesterday, I was walking through my local park when some people who used to tease me continuously in high school thought it appropriate to shout over to me and call me a "dog". Considering I left school 3 years ago I had to ask myself why their lives haven't moved on? Rather than getting me down, I realised that they've achieved nothing in 3 years while I'm heading to the largest art university in Europe!

    1. That's terrible! You would have expected them to have moved on. It's good you recognise your incredible achievements and didn't let it get to you :D x
